Yes. If a customer is knowingly only going to stay for a few months, the full activation fee is billed up front. Depending on the fibre network, this can range between R850 and R1750.

🏗️ Can I pause my fibre service for 3 months while I do renovations? #

The fibre networks don’t give us the option to pause a line rental. You can cancel a line (with notice period) and then order a reconnect at a future date. This usually starts making sense if you are going away for 5+ months.

There is a reconnect cost. You may need to pay a pro-rata fee for your current bundled free extras (like a free installation) when cancelling your current service.
